Bummis Potty Training Pants Review and Photos

As much as I love cloth diapers, I'm eager to have our second baby potty trained - though he is only 17 months old! We were looking for suitable cloth potty training pants that would fit him well and would be easy to put on and take off. We were really excited to hear about the new Bummis Potty Pants that are made in Canada. We have been testing out the size Medium on our 17 month old, 28 pound boy, he is wearing them in all the pictures below.

After being in rather bulky cloth diapers the past year, the Bummis Potty Pants are so trim on Baby T! These are 'big kid' undies. As you can see, they have a great fit around the waist and thighs. We love the really gentle elastic that doesn't leave red marks and makes these really easy to pull on or take off. They fit comfortably right below the waist and they are great under clothing. Baby T loves to wear these around the house during the day. He is still not at the point where he will actually ask to go on the potty, but we are getting close. I wish he was more uncomfortable with feeling wet!

These come in four sizes, small (18-25 lbs), medium (25-30 lbs), large (30-35 lbs), and extra large (35+ lbs). They are great for babies no matter if they have skinny or chunky legs, My baby boy is somewhere in between, he isn't too skinny but not much of a chubster either - about average. Another bonus is that they are just cute, which is a must of course. I really like the neutral white color that's great for a boy or girl. Though I admit the Pistachio Dot print makes me want to have another girl.

These potty training pants are waterproof, so they are perfect for both inside and out of the home while potty training. Whether you need to save your furniture or the car seat, these will safely hold one 'pee' and even a little more with our experience. The inside is made of interlock cotton/hemp fabric which is absolutely soft wash after wash, I love that it doesn't become stiff after being line dried. There is a layer of absorbent microfiber underneath. The elastic sides are stretchy and gentle, there is no rubbing or friction with these. The undies are not crinkly, which is a great bonus. Who wants to wear noisy potty training pants?

The Bummis Potty Training Pants are priced at $15.95 each, which I admit is a little more than I would pay for one pair of potty training pants. Certainly they are not the cheapest, but I think they are worth it. Even if you would get some cheaper undies and training pants and just a few of the Bummis, you'll find yourself saving them for errands and trips when you need something reliable. The price is worth a product you can truly depend on!

Overall I would highly recommend these if you have a potty training toddler and they would be great for some EC (elimination communication) as well since the small fits babies as light as 18 pounds. They are just so simple and dare I say 'perfect'? They are everything you would want in a potty training pant, trim, easy on/off, absorbent, waterproof, soft, and super cute!
