Highlights of Bumgenius Elemental Cloth Diapers

Bumgenius cloth diapers are known for their quality and value. This mom-owned company began small with $100 and a dream. In 2005 bumGenius diapers were introduced to the world and quickly grew in popularity.  The bumGenius Elemental Series feature the same bumGenius quality as other bumGenius diapers, but have an organic interior.

The bumGenius Elemental Diaper is an all in one diaper option that is easy to use and a great choice for babysitters or day care.  It is designed to fit from 7-35 lbs. and features three different size settings.  Sizing is adjusted by snaps on the front of the diaper.   Two snap settings give you a small and a medium size. To reach the large size leave the size settings unsnapped.

The interior of the bumGenius diaper is 100% certified organic cotton so natural fibers will be up against your baby’s skin. The soft soaker is sewn in at the front and the back of the diaper and should be folded at the front, back, or in the middle to provide 6 layers of absorbency in your baby’s wet zone. Because the soaker isn’t sewn in it dries quicker and cleans easier. Unlike the popular bumGenius pocket diaper, this diaper requires no stuffing. The outer waterproof material is available in a wide variety of colors and a select number of prints.

The bumGenius Elemental Cloth Diaper features the popular bumGenius stretchy tabs to help provide a secure fit and fastens on your baby with snaps. Each tab has two snaps that fasten to two rows of snaps on the front of the diaper. Gentle elastic at the legs and back help contain messes. Simply fold the attached soaker to suit your baby’s wet zone and snap the diaper on your baby.

Taking care of your bumGenius diaper isn’t too difficult. Before using the diapers, you will need to prewash them so they will become absorbent. Wash them in hot water with a small amount of detergent and dry on warm. Repeat this 5-7 times to prepare the diapers for use. Once a diaper is wet or soiled shake off or rinse off any soiled material into the toilet and place the diaper in a dry pail. On wash day, wash the diapers on cold with only ¼ of the regular detergent amount. Make sure the detergent is additive free. After the cold wash, wash the diapers on hot with ¼ of the regular detergent amount. Do an extra rinse after the hot wash and then dry the diapers on warm.

Thanks Mama offers bumGenius Elemental Cloth Diapers in all colors and prints with the lowest prices available. You can purchase a single diaper to try it out or purchase them in a package for even greater savings. Thanks Mama offers 3 packs, 6 packs, 12 packs, and 24 packs of this absorbent diaper. Quality and value combine with organic materials to bring you this well-constructed cloth diaper from bumGenius. Whether you are looking to add a diaper or two to your stash or needing enough for twins, bumGenius Elemental Cloth Diapers may be the right for your needs.

Do Your Part to Protect Mother Earth: Buy EcoPosh Diaper Covers

In the past 50 years the amount of garbage produced each year has more than doubled. Disposable diapers are one of the largest individual items found in the landfill.  By choosing to cloth diaper you can reduce your family’s ecological footprint. Not only is cloth diapering beneficial in reducing waste, but it also reduces the amount of energy expended in manufacturing. Cloth diapering products made from natural fibers come with added benefits to the environment.

Disposable diapers have been around a long time now, but not long enough for anyone to really know how long they take to decompose.  Estimates have been in the range of 250-500 years. There are an estimated 27 billion disposable diapers used in the United States every year, most of which ends up in a landfill.  Over time this adds up. Add to that the amount of energy and resources it takes to create disposable diapers. A year’s worth of disposable diapers for one baby requires 300 lbs. of wood, 50 lbs. of petroleum and twice as much water as required for cloth diapering.

If you choose to cloth diaper for environmental reasons you will want to consider wool cloth diaper covers like the EcoPosh Diaper Cover.  Wool is a renewable fiber obtained from sheep.  Each year sheep regrow their wool and have it removed without harm to them.  Wool covers can be reused and in most cases can also be used for younger siblings that come along.  Wool doesn’t require washing after each use because it is naturally antimicrobial.  Just air dry between uses and wash when soiled or after 1-2 weeks of use.  Biodegradable wool is Mother Earth friendly.  As a natural fiber wool has other benefits as well. Naturally breathable, it allows air to circulate while keeping your baby cool in the summer and warm in the winter.  Wool is a thirsty fabric and naturally water repellent. When the diaper inside is soaked the wool cover will absorb up to 30% of its own weight.  This makes it an excellent choice for nighttime or heavy wetters.

EcoPosh Diaper Covers are pull-on wool cloth diaper covers. They go on your baby like a comfortable pair of shorts. Made out of 100% knit wool this naturally stretchy cover comes in two sizes designed to fit from 8 lbs to 35 lbs.  A beautiful umber color makes this a stunning choice. Use it over fitted cloth diapers, a fastened prefold diaper, or as extra protection for naps or nighttime. It is easy to wash.  Just hand wash with wool wash ever 1-2 weeks or when it is soiled. Lanolize your EcoPosh Wool Cover once a month to keep the natural fibers in good shape.

As parents we can make choices to help protect Mother Earth. Using cloth diapers is a great way to reduce the amount of garbage your family produces as well as the amount of energy used in manufacturing.    Choosing cloth diapers made from natural fibers like wool will benefit the environment even more. Give your baby a quality natural fiber diaper cover and take a big step toward protecting Mother Earth. You can find EcoPosh Diaper Covers readily available at Thanks Mama.
