I love babywearing. I started off with a used BabyBjorn when my son was about 2 months old, which was great until he got a little older and it began to hurt my back. I had heard many praises sung about the Ergo, so I wound up springing for an Ergo Organic. My son lived in that thing for many months. Napped in it, nursed in it, went places with me in it.
More recently, I had the opportunity to try the Boba Carrier. (pictured left) It's quite similar to the Ergo, but doesn't offer the side carry (which isn't very comfortable to me, anyway), doesn't have a storage pocket, has little foot stirrups, and has a slightly higher weight limit.
The Boba is very comfortable. The front carry is simple and comfortable. The back carry feels practically weightless, even with a 21 pound toddler on my back. He's comfortable, I'm comfortable, and we can walk for a few miles this way without a problem. I do find the back carrier much tricker with the Boba than with the Ergo. For the life of me, I can't do the back carry myself...I always need some extra help.
I don't have the Boba organic, but I do find the material to be a little rougher than my Ergo organic.
Most people will get a bit more use out of a Boba than an Ergo. The Ergo's weight limit is 40 pounds, while the Boba's is 45.
I'd absolutely recommend the Boba. It's an excellent carrier, and because the weight limit is so high, you get a lot of bang for your buck.
